baby pea puree | Recipes for kids

Today I bring you a puree of peas, potatoes, leeks and chicken, because my little one is already nine months old and we have introduced a little legumes into his diet, starting with peas. I will tell you that he loved it, I hope that your babies also like it.
Peas are pure energy, full of vegetable proteins, they provide many vitamins and contain potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium and iron. In addition, like other legumes, they provide a lot of fiber, so they are a food that we should take into account in our usual diet and in baby food as well. Its best time is in spring and autumn, although frozen we can find them all year round and not for that reason with fewer properties.
Shall we go on to prepare that delicious pea puree ?
Pea and chicken puree
Ingredients
- 1 potato
- 1 small leek
- 4 tablespoons frozen baby peas
- 1 piece of chicken breast
- Extra virgin olive oil, raw at the time of serving
Making the pea puree
Peel the potato and cut it into pieces and chop the leek, put them together with the peas in a pot with water until the potato is tender. Then add the chicken pieces and leave it for another five minutes. Remove and put in the blender glass along with a little of the cooking water. We grind well and remember to add a good splash of extra virgin olive oil just before giving it to our baby.
If we do it with Thermomix, we will cook the potato, the peas and the leek with water for 15 minutes spoon speed, 100º C. We add the chicken in pieces and leave it another five minutes more. When finished we crush a minute at maximum power.
With these amounts , three pots of pea puree have come out .
If you use fresh peas, they will be added together with the chicken, since to maintain their properties we must cook them just enough.
