Fun cookies with almonds

for 20-25 cookies.

  • 250 g of common flour
  • 125g butter or cold margarine
  • 125 g azúcar
  • 1 egg
  • 20-25 almonds

How to make almond heart cookies

First, mix the sugar with the flour and add the cold butter or margarine, cut into cubes. With the tips of the fingers -or with the kitchen robot, if we have- we crumble until a kind of coarse grit forms. Add the egg and knead a little until you get a homogeneous dough. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Remove and stretch on a baking paper until you have a dough 4-5 mm thick. With a cookie cutter we cut our “little men”. Place the cookies on a tray (always with parchment paper) separated from each other and return to the fridge. As the dough has butter every time we work it, the heat will make it soften, that is why it is very important to follow the rest times in the fridge,

We remove the cookies from the fridge and to finish we will only have to decorate them. We place an almond on the chest of the “little man” and close the dough arms as if he were holding it. With the help of a wooden stick we draw the different faces.

Bake immediately in a preheated oven at 180° for approximately 12 minutes, or until the edges are just golden. Let cool on an oven rack before consuming.

If all the cookies we have prepared fit in the same batch, do not forget to leave them in the fridge while waiting to put them in the oven, so they will keep their shape.

If you are still hesitating between making cookies at home or buying them, these tips for making perfect homemade cookies will convince you. In addition to the genuine taste of what is made at home, it can become a fun activity to do as a family. The only thing left is to decide… when do we bake the next cookies?
